Exciting weekend

What an exciting weekend, at 10pm on friday night we had the great news that the buyers of our home in Malvern are ready to exchange contracts next week and complete the following week which is a great relief.

Then at 4.30am I get a text letting me know Unikko has had her pups, at this stage 3 girls and 2 boys how ever this was to increase to 4 girls and 3 boys due to a couple of late arrivals. To hear more about Unikko's litter take a look at Lappvikens blog - link on the right hand side of the page.

We then had to het our act together otherwise we would not be ready to go camping next weekend so off we went and bought a battery for our folding camper and lots of other new bits (I was like a child in a toy shop). So we are nearly ready to head off to Newbury for next weekend.

Tarkka and I have also been keeping the cycling up we have been out together for the last 4 days even through the poaring rain which involves coming back very muddy and soaked (both of us) don't you just love bank holiday weekends. George's bike should be fixed tomorrow so will re-join us but for now I'm really enjoying the trips out just Tarkka and I. It's also really great that we can cycle straight from our house as the cycle trck that runs along the old railway line and river is literally down the road.

Josh has gone away with friends of ours for half term week so with Tarkka sleeping off the bike rides/walks and no Josh the house is really quiet.

I've taken some video footage of Tarkka and I out and about however having problems moving it off my phone but watch this space as I will get this sorted in the next few days.

Hope you are all having a lovely bank holiday weekend.

May

So what has been going on in May.

Well the first half was taken up by the big move back to Plymouth. I didn't realise how much stuff we had and also how many toys Tarkka had buried/hidden in the garden.
Since moving back to Plymouth Tarkka was part of a surprise birthday visit to Shelley for take away (Tarkka wasn't allowed any). Then he had Taru and Kippis come visit last weekend. Plus his regular walks with Jess life has been good.

A couple of weeks ago we got up before we went to bed lol and drove to Stafford picking Shelley, Apina and Kippis up on route (still at stupid o'clock) however it was well worth the early start and the long drive, firstly for having the company of Shelley and secondly Tarkka qualified for Crufts 2012 with a 3rd in his class (Post Grad boy) which I am chuffed to bits about.

With no shows for a few weeks we have been trying new stuff, Tarkka's had a bash at swimming not intentionally, we where playing with a stick and he found a deep bit in the river, took him and us by surprise but he soon straggled back out and soaked us with his shakedown.

Last weekend while it was overcast we also tried a gentle cycle ride along the river, we where going so slow I'm sure walking would have been quicker but we are now slowly building Tarkka up, first with distance then with pace. He loved the trip with lots of stops by the river however the second trip came to an abrupt end as George got a puncture so they walked back while I carried on a bit and caught them up on the way back.

For those of you who knew Tarkka has been unwell since new year I'm pleased to report Tarkka has been signed off by the vet I'm putting this down to a change of food, getting rid of anything that has chicken fat in it and also cutting out rice. Since going over to potato based food he's come on leaps and bounds, full of life and putting on weight (however we would like to level this out). His coat was also looking much better but he's now decided to throw his coat, thanks Tarkka I love walking around after you picking big clumps of hair up of the floor.

It's camping time. Next weekend we are going on our first Champ show this year that involves camping and really looking forward to the SFLS fish and chip supper on saturday night. It will also be the first time in ages we have towed the camper so much so that I've been racing around to get a tow bar fitted as last time we took it camping I had a different car.

Lots of news to come over the coming weeks as we have some exciting news we hope to share with you next week so please bookmark and share Tarkka's blog.
